The TopParken Tournament U14 in Lunteren was won by Standard Luik on Saturday. The football team, with players up to the age of fourteen, was too strong for FC Utrecht in the final after penalties. Sparta Prague became third.
The Tournament, which took place at the Lunterse sports park De Wormshoef, was held for the 25th time. For the first time the matches were spread over two days. Home team Lunteren finished in twelfth and last place. The final ended in a penalty shootout series. Liège won the first series, but started with a substitute who took a penalty. This was against the rules and so the whole series had to be taken again. Again the Belgians were the best.
Every year a prize is also awarded for best player. Kyriani Sabbe (Club Brugge) received that honor. Tom Poitoux of Standard Liège was named best keeper.
